Leaving on a jet plane...

Alright here we go...I'm at the airport here in Newark, NJ about to embark on a pretty wild 4 month excursion. I'm actually not quite sure what this blog is going to be. I have visions of it being this Kerouac "esque" On the Road vomiting of experience, but also have desires for it to be kind of a catalog of what and where I am. It can be both, it can be neither. Wow, did I just use vomiting of experience in the first 5 lines of this blog...Yes, yes, I did...Great sign, this journey is going to be pret-ty intense...:) This is getting awesome...It's interesting traveling by yourself. It's also interesting traveling by yourself without a phone. I keep waiting for my pants to have a random vibration that never comes. I'm thankful that I have all of this technology with me to ease me out of the New York fast paced lifestyle and into another world where getting on a subway is really just not an option...Ah, french being spoken over the loudspeaker here in Newark...And who said Jersey wasn't classy. The basic plan for today is that I hop on this flight from Newark and get into Paris at 9:40 am on April 1...April fools!!! No seriously that's the plan, but couldn't resist. Then I will run from my gate to attempt to catch a 10:40 am flight from Paris to Johannesburg where I am set to arrive April 1 in the evening. Then I will sleep in the Joha' airport, cross the moat, tickle the dwarf, slay the dragon and catch a 11amish flight from Joha' to Malawi where I will be picked up at 2:05pm on April 2. Flawless.

I love sitting here on the floor of an airport and watching. Watching other people on their laptops, watch other people walk by and just wonder where they're off to, who they're going to visit. I'm so used to being so concerned with my own stuff, getting somewhere, moving at MY pace, that I don't necessarily get the opportunity to just sit down up against a wall, watch people and have the pleasure of documenting it...

So I feel like that's a good start to the blogging. I'll leave with this, a phrase that I'm pretty sure I made up yesterday but may not have...If you or anyone you know has heard this before and it's a famous phrase that I'm taking credit for let me know and I'll clear the record...otherwise, IT'S ALL ME BABY and I will need to be referenced every time you pass this phrase on...wow, what a build up, I hope the phrase holds up...Here it is...i was thinking about it as I was traveling and thinking about how crazy life can be sometimes...

Life is a trip, so it's ok to fall...

just silence and pensivity...(can I say that? I'm just making words up all over the place recently. Well recently for me but if you're reading this and you haven't seen or heard me in a while then it's just making up this word, now)

FYI pensivity was not mine to actually make up...http://connect.rhodes.edu/blog/2008/03/20/pre-break-pensivity/
